Human physiology is the study of normal functions of various organ systems in the human body.  This subject is one of the three basic science subjects for the 1st year MBBS course.  The course duration is 1 year with two semesters. At the end of the  2nd semester,  students have to appear for University Examination in Theory,  Practical & Viva-voce.  A pass in the subject is mandatory for promotion to 3rd semester.

DEPARTMENT HISTORY
 

The department was established in 2002 with Dr. Alice George [former Professor of Physiology Govt. Medical College Thrissur & C.M.C. Vellore] as Head of the Department. Dr. K. Saraswathy & Dr. Annamma Mathew [former Professors of Govt. Medical Colleges in Kerala] also took charge as Professors in 2002.  Dr. Alice George retired in 2009 &   Dr. Annamma Mathew took charge as HOD.

Dr Annamma Mathew retired from the institution in the year 2017. Dr Sunil Thomas who joined the institution in the year 2005 served as HOD from the year 2017 to 2021. Dr. Anne Varghese joined the department of Physiology in the year 2006 and is currently heading the department
